April 28th Notice of Motion - Deputy Mayor Barr - Business Improvement Area (BIA)

    WHEREAS having a Business Improvement Area (BIA) in the Village of Merrickville-Wolford would promote the business improvement area as a business, employment, tourist, and shopping area for residents and visitors to experience; and

    WHEREAS a BIA will allow local businesses to advocate on behalf of the interests of the Business Improvement Area and will support downtown beautification and economic development within the community; and

    WHEREAS a BIA can contribute to and support downtown events, business promotions, and assist in promoting the strong business community that exists in Merrickville-Wolford;

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Committee of the Whole direct staff to bring back a report regarding the process of establishing and implementing a Business Improvement Area in the Village of Merrickville-Wolford for Council consideration.
